Sunny skies, warm temperatures and excitement kept the crowds entertained at the Offshore Super Series National Championship races this weekend.
The AMF/Miss GEICO crew continued its streak and took center stage and top podium again this year in the Cat Turbine Extreme class with an average speed of 122 mph over 10 laps.
In the Cat Extreme class, the first place, grand prize trophy went to Team CRC. Team CRC averaged almost 117 mph each lap to earn them the top spot.
Miss Bud Light took second and the lake’s Bad Moon Risin crewed by Bob Morgan and Jeff Tillman went home third.
The champagne really sprayed for the winners of the Vee Lite class.
Even though they were surrounded by some tough competition, the Under Destruction racing team pulled ahead to win the race. Typhoon took second and Wild Ride rode home in third.
The Grand trophy went to Wild Ride however.
In the Cat 850 class, teams Fury, D & M Motorsports and WHM Motorsports duked it out on the waterway, each averaging speeds close to 100 mph.
In the end, Fury went home the winners of the course. D & M Motorsports and WHM Motorsports placed second and third respectively.
WHM Motorsports placed top honors as winners of the Cat 850 class for this year.
Before the trophies were handed out and the teams announced, many people thanked the crowds filled with racers, families and race participants including several race organizers and host Merlyn Vandervort of The Horny Toad Entertainment Complex.
Vandervort promised another great OSS National Championship race next year.
