The Lady Lakers took third place in their district tournament Thursday. The team totaled 399 strokes just four points behind winner Rolla who finished with 395. Jefferson City placed second with 397.
Joni Purvis finished second overall in districts, as she shot an 87 and qualified for state championship tournament. Brooke Kelley finished fourth with a 92 and also qualified for the state tournament, which will be played at Silo Ridge in Bolivar, Mo Oct. 20-21.
"Those were the three teams I thought it would be between,” said head coach Jane Edison. “I thought it was going to be close. We look back and we're proud we finished third. Best ever finish. It was a culmination of a great season, our best season ever."
