The B-Mod feature had plenty of tight action Saturday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway. Pole setter Colt Cheevers took the opening lead from Steve Muilenburg with Reggie Jackson, Billy Street and Corey Pope following quickly.
With action tight and quick, Ted Ballinger moved around Pope to get into the top five as Cheevers and Muilenburg were battling hard.The first yellow waved on lap 10 for TR Phillips bunching the field up.
On lap 16,Muilenburg pulled even with Cheevers as the lead duo battled with Cheevers just nipping Muilenburg at the flag stand. Just as Muilenburg pulled to pass, the final yellow waved on lap 18 as Shawn Winfrey and Greg Strong got together on the front stretch.
The checkered flew as Cheevers grabbed the win followed by Muilenburg, Jackson, Street and Harrison.
In Factory Stock Action, outside front row starter Jody Tillman grabbed the opening lead from pole setter Todd Cook with James Flood close behind. Tillman and Cook battled early until lap 6 when Tillman began to pull away from the pack.
On lap 7, the caution waved for Sheldon Stoufer as his night finished. On the restart, Cook applied pressure along with Flood while another tight battle broke between Chad Smith, Troy White and a fast moving Bob Gustin of Osage Beach.
On lap 11,the yellow waved for debris as Ben Solberg, Camdenton’s Kenny Carroll and Ted Welschmeyer battled to the forefront from the back of the pack. On lap 12, Flood made the move around Cook and set his sights on leader Tillman while Gustin charged on the top groove.
Flood tried several moves over the final laps but Tillman hung on to grab the win with Flood, Cook, Gustin and Solberg completing the top five. Carrol finished eighth while Steve James of Gravious Mills and Richland’s Bill Webster placed 17th and 18th respectively. Sheldon Stoufer of Camdenton placed 23rd.
In Bomber Action,Shawn Strong continued his dream season as he grabbed the opening lead from outside pole setter Wayne Coffman and never looked back in taking home the win. Josh Lewis of Stoutland finished seventh.
The Pure Stock class saw Kevin Forshey take the lead from Joe Francis on lap 6 and never looked back in taking his first ever career victory with Francis,Jason Brumley and Jeff Brown following.
In the DLRA Late Model feature Terry Phillips finished first, followed by Jeremy Payne. Camdenton’s Ken Dickinson placed 14th.
Justin Stoufer of Camdenton 10th in the A-Modified race that was won by Tony Jackson.
