The Lady Lakers went into the fifth inning of their opening district game leading Rock Bridge 2-1, but committed six errors over the final three innings to lose 7-2.
“In the sixth inning we had some trouble. We had three errors and they had a couple good hits,” said head coach Kim Vest.
Vest said although she and the team were upset with the loss, it did not take away from one of the best seasons in the school’s history.
"It was disappointing. We had really been playing well defensively. I felt we had really come around,” Vest said. “It was a cold night, Rock Bridge has a couple kids that can hit. It doesn't take away from our season. We had won 17 games this season.”
