The Lady Lakers lost to Bolivar Monday 3-2 in 11 innings.
Camdenton head coach Kim Vest said it was a hard-fought defensive pitching duel where both teams played well.
"It was one of those that could have gone either way, you hated to see either team lose. Both team’s pitchers pitched well,” Vest said. “We left some people on base when we could have won the game, especially early.”
Valarie Rugen went 2-5 with one double and one RBI. Jessica Colliver pitched all 11 innings and struck out seven batters. She also went 2-5 at the plate.
The Lady Indians will begin district play Wednesday when they face off against Rock Bridge.
This is the third consecutive year the two teams will meet in districts. Last year Rock Bridge defeated the Lady Lakers and two years ago Camdenton bested the Lady Bruins.
