The lake level was 658.9 (660 is normal pool level), with heavy generation, the lake should hold at 659.6 through the weekend. Truman Lake is 5-feet over pool with moderate generation scheduled. The surface temperature at Bagnell Dam is 85 degrees and 83 to 87-degrees upstream depending on the location, time of day and air temperature.
Little has changed in the fishing report except a thermocline has developed at 14 to 16-feet throughout most of the lake.
LARGEMOUTH AND SPOTTED BASS – One day and one evening tournament reported last week taking 10.3 and 15.6-pounds (6-pounds than in the same tournament last week) to win respectively. Lower Osage: Fair, try Bulls Eye jigs and 7 or 10-inch Berkley Power Worms on rocky main lake points. Glaize Arm: Fair, try 10-inch blue-fleck Power Worms or Norman’s DD22 on points. Mid-Lake: Excellent on 7 and 10-inch blue-fleck Power Worms. Niangua Arm: Fair, try Berkley’s 10-inch tequila sunrise Power Worm or crankbaits like Norman’s Deep Little ‘N’, DD22 or Rapala’s DT10 12 to 16-feet deep. Gravois Arm: Fair, try 10-inch blue-fleck Power Worms or Norman’s DD22 on points. Upper Osage: Fair, try football jigs tipped with NetBait’s Paca Chunk in green pumpkin color on main lake points with current. Osage 60 MM: Fair to good on green pumpkin colored 5 to 6-inch finesse worms.
CRAPPIE – Bagnell Dam Tailwater: No reported fish. Lower Osage: Poor to fair on minnows. Glaize Arm: Poor to fair. Try minnows 8 to 25-feet deep around brush. Mid-Lake: Poor to fair. Try jigs or minnows 18 to 20-feet deep for fish suspended around points. Niangua Arm: Poor, try Blakemore Road Runners or minnows under slip bobbers alongside docks with brush. Gravois Arm: Poor to fair. Try minnows or jigs 8 to 25-feet deep around brush. Upper Osage: Fair. Fish are scattered, try chartreuse and black plastic on Road Runner heads. Osage 60 MM: Fair early using white-and-turquoise jigs with orange heads in 15 to 18-feet deep. Osage 89 MM: Fair on jigs. Truman Dam Tailwater: Poor for both size and quantity.
WHITE AND HYBRID BASS – Bagnell Dam Tailwater: No reported fish. Lower Osage: No reported fish. Glaize Arm: Poor, look for fish running shad on windy main lake points. Mid-Lake: No reported fish. Niangua Arm: No reported fish. Gravois Arm: No reported fish. Upper Osage: No reported fish. Osage 60 MM: Fair on windblown flat points. Truman Dam Tailwater: Fair for whites using minnows.
WALLEYE – Niangua Arm: Poor, try trolling Norman’s Little ‘N’ or Sebile’s Koolie Minnow M90 on humps. Osage 60 MM: No reported fish.
CATFISH – Bagnell Dam Tailwater: Poor, try cut shad or Geno’s prepared bait. Lower Osage: No reported fish. Glaize Arm: Fair on shad sides. Mid-Lake: Very good on juglines or rod and reel baited with live perch. Niangua Arm: Excellent on Berkley’s Gulp! Catfish Dough or nightcrawlers, 8 to 10-feet deep in coves. Gravois Arm: No reported fish. Upper Osage: No reported fish. Osage 60 MM: Excellent on cut shad or nightcrawlers fished on a tightline. Osage 89 MM: Very good on shad. Truman Dam Tailwater: Good on fresh bait and cut shad.
BLUEGILL – Excellent on nightcrawler pieces, Berkley’s Gulp Earthworm or small pieces of Gulp! Alive! Minnows around docks.
NOTE: The Lower Osage is from the dam to the 22-mile mark; Mid-Lake is between the 22 and 38-mile marks; the Upper Osage is between the 38 and 55-mile marks; the Osage 60 MM is between the 55-mile mark and the 89-mile mark; and the 89 MM is between the 89 MM and the Rt. 65 Bridge.
