Shirley Thaxton, 70, of Richland, Mo., passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2008, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Linn Creek, Mo.
She was born July 31, 1937, in St. Louis, Mo., a daughter of Pete and Mary (Stoffey) Turner.
Shirley was united in marriage on Dec. 29, 1970, to Gerald Thaxton who preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 2001.
Shirley was a school teacher and a police officer in Richland, was a member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Richland and worked at the Richland Senior Center.
Surviving are her one daughter, Sandra Boals and husband Wilford, of Camdenton, Mo.; four brothers, Dennis Turner, Raymond Turner and wife Jennie, Kenneth Turner and wife Donna all of St. Louis, Mo., Thomas Turner and wife Karen of Popular Bluff, Mo., seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the Hedges-Scott Funeral Home of Camdenton. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. prior to service time at the funeral home.
