Thomas James (Tom) Gerant Sr., 75, of Gravois Mills, Mo., passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 13, 2008, at his home. 
He was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Fleming, Kan., the son of John and Louise Oberzan Gerant.
He was united in marriage on July 1, 1954, in Kansas City, Mo. to Mary Alice Lucas.
Tom was a production coordinator for General Motors for 30 years. He was a member of the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, Mo., the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, the Knights of Columbus No. 10381, Fourth Degree Assembly No. 2111, and the Osage Community Elks Lodge No. 2075 in Laurie.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Gerant of the home; one son, Tom Gerant Jr. and wife Mary Ann, of Gravois Mills; one daughter, Billie Iserman and husband Joel, of Blue Springs, Mo.; two brothers, Mike Gerant of Peculiar, Mo., and Dan Gerant of Fort Scott, Kan.; two sisters, Lorene Sparks of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Mary Louise Gaines of Victoria, Texas; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Gerant.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie. Interment will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Sympathy condolences may be sent online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
