Vestal Ray Wall, 80, of Bonner Springs, Kan., passed away Thursday, Aug. 14 at his home.
Mr. Wall was born on March 4, 1928, in Crocker, Mo., and had moved to the Bonner Springs, Kan. area in the early 1960s. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for Southwest Steel Fabricators in Bonner Springs for 29 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a Baptist. He enjoyed working on all kinds of projects, fixing all kinds of things.
Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by one son, Randy Wall of Bonner Spring; three daughters, Debbie Thomas and husband Jimmie of Bonner Springs, Pamela Taylor and husband Bryan of Shawnee, Kan., and Tina Matthews and husband Kevin also of Bonner Springs; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two brothers and four sisters as well as many other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Gertrude Wall in May 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, Kan., with burial to follow in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening Aug. 18 at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home of Bonner Springs.
