Norman J. Dunn, 72, of Sunrise Beach, Mo., passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 17, 2008, at his home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1936, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Lester and Marah Davis Dunn.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 26, 1956, in Manchester, Mo., with Jeanne Ott.
Norman was a retired boilermaker and member of the Local No. 27. He was a member of the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, Mo., and a U.S. Marine Corp veteran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, deer hunting, was a private airplane pilot, and a friend to all - a stranger to none.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Dunn of the home; four sons, Jeffrey A. Dunn (Gaylene) of Hazelwood, Mo.; Daryl D. Dunn (Jeannie) of Ballwin, Mo.; Michael P. Dunn (Tammy) of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; and Kevin S. Dunn (Sue) of Troy, Ill.; one daughter, Kathleen J. Batts (Joe) of Villa Ridge, Mo.; one brother, David Dunn of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Margie Rackis (John) of Carteret, N.J.; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, many other relatives and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Shrine of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie, with Rev. Father Dan Lueckenotte officiating. Military honors and interment will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie-Sunrise Beach Chapel in Laurie.
