Charles Edgar Cline Jr., 71, passed away Aug. 1, 2008 at his home in Sunrise Beach, Mo.
He was born to Charles Edgar Cline and Iva Lee (Franklin) Cline at home in Greenwood, Mo., on May 17, 1937.
Chuck was united in marriage to Dee Bray and to this union four children were born. He was later united in marriage to Rosa Lee (Roberts) Carter on March 22, 1975, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Chuck and Dee’s children, Rosa’s child from a previous marriage and another child of Chuck’s made his and Rosa’s union a very large family.
Chuck served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958 as a photographer. He was stationed in Guam and then in Tucson, Ariz. After his active duty in the Air Force, Chuck transferred to the Air Force Reserve until 1962. In civilian life, Chuck was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 41.
Chuck retired and accomplished a lifelong dream of building a home and living at Lake of the Ozarks. His biggest pleasure was spending time with his kids and grandkids at the lake. Chuck started attending church at the House of Prayer and was baptized on July 23, 2006, at Rocky Falls, Mo.
Chuck is survived by wife Rosa Lee Cline of Sunrise Beach, Mo.; four daughters, Jessie and husband Ray McFee of Warsaw, Mo., Tanya Goss of Lone Jack, Mo., Renee and husband Red Roberts of Winona, Mo., and Jana Cooper of Independence, Mo.; one son Greg Carter of Winona, Mo.; one brother, Dennis Cline and wife Linda of Greenwood, Mo.; one sister, Claudia Morris of Greenwood; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a large number of nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Iva Lee and Charles Cline; one son, Charles (Chuckie) Cline; three brothers, Donnie Cline, Richard Cline and Jerry Cline; one brother-in-law, Freddie Morris; and two grandchildren, David Lee Payne and Stephanie LeAnn Cline.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, Mo. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at the House of Prayer Church in Winona, Mo. with Archie Taylor officiating. Full Military Rights with interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
