Clint Eddy is currently being held in the county’s Adult Detention Center awaiting transfer to the Department of Corrections.
The 39-year-old Versailles man eluded law enforcement authorities for more than a month after charges were filed against him for allegedly raping a juvenile.
On Wednesday, a citizen’s tip led to the arrest of Eddy at a Camden County shopping center.
Eddy has been on the run since July 2 after the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department charged him with multiple counts of forcible rape, forcible sodomy, statutory rape and statutory sodomy.
The victim’s mother reported the case to authorities.
She said Eddy was repairing a mobile home in Versailles. Her daughter, who is less than 14-years-old, was keeping a pet dog at the mobile home. When she would go over to feed the pet, Eddy would attack her.
The victim said she had been assaulted several times in June. If she refused, he threatened to kill her or her family.
When the mother confronted Eddy and told him she was going to file charges, he called the girl a liar.
Eddy fled the area before the arrest warrant was issued.
His bond for the charges has been set at $100,000 cash-only.
However, Eddy is on parole for first-degree robbery.
He is being held without bond on a warrant from the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole charging him with parole violation.
