Miller County, Mo. -

A 26-year-old Rocky Mount man was flown to the hospital with serious injuries after allegedly getting into an altercation in a bar, getting behind the wheel and crashing his car.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Benjamin J. Watts was driving a 1998 Mazda on Route W less than a mile north of Lake Road W-18 when the accident occurred Saturday at 1:05 a.m.
Watts was traveling at a high rate of speed, went off the right side of the road and flipped over several times before coming to a rest on a parked flatbed trailer.
According to Highway Patrol Sgt. Rick Buttram, deputies near the crash site were conducting a saturation patrol to watch for drunken drivers when Watts was seen driving at a high rate of speed. Before they could catch up with Watts, he crashed.
Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, Buttram said.
Watts was flown to the University Medical Center, in Columbia, Mo.
