An investigation by the Eldon Police Department led to the arrest of a Barnett man accused of stealing as much as $8,000 from the youth soccer league.
According to court documents, Kenneth W. Herrbach, 38, has been charged with stealing. Herrbach is accused of stealing between $6,000 and $8,000 from the Eldon/Lake Ozark Soccer Association from a bank account at Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks.
The thefts allegedly occurred between June 2006 and July 2008. The stolen funds were allegedly used for personal expenses.
According to Assistant Police Chief Jimmie Mays, a board member for the soccer association had approached the police department with concerns about the group’s finances. When the police department started checking bank records, investigators found funds had been taken out of the account.
At the time, Mays said Herrbach was serving as a director for the association.
Herrbach was arrested at his home in Barnett by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
