Boat explosion sends woman to hospital

A Union woman was injured after an explosion threw her out of a boat docked at the Horny Toad Entertainment Complex.
According to the Missouri Water Patrol, Michele Schroeder, 44, was untying a 34-foot Sea Ray from the gas dock after refueling.
The explosion, which occurred after the driver turned the ignition on, threw schroeder from the boat onto the dock.
The accident was reported at 12:46 p.m. at the 7-mile marker.
Schroeder was taken to Lake Regional Hospital with moderate injuries.
An estimated $10,000 in boat damage was reported.
Earlier in the day, the Water Patrol responded to call at the 17-mile marker. Brian Mabry, 17, of Batavia, Ill., was taken to Lake Regional for treatment of minor injuries after having a seizure and falling into the water at 8:10 a.m.
He was face down in the water for a short time before family pulled him out, according to the Water Patrol.
