Camden County, Mo. -

Furniture for new Teen Zones will be arriving soon to the Camdenton and Osage Beach libraries.
The Teen Zones will have comfy chairs, rugs and posters aimed at an audience the libraries tend to lose, library director Carolyn Chittenden said.
The six branches in the Camden County Library District already have children’s sections filled with age-appropriate books.
Having a special teen section, filled with young adult novels and other books, is a natural step to capture that audience, Chittenden said.
“We do really well capturing the younger kids and the adults, but miss out on the young adults. Those areas of the libraries will be just for them to come in and relax, ” Chittenden said.
The Teen Zones’ furniture was chosen by a panel of teens. Chittenden said that since the section was for them, the district wanted to make sure their opinions were included.
The new furniture should be arriving, and the libraries rearranged, in about two weeks.
