School starts soon

It’s about time for school to start and that means signing up for classes, meeting up with teachers and getting to know the routine before the bell officially rings.
With some students headed back to the classroom in just a few short days, staff and administration are preparing for the first day of school. Schools in the lake area will be holding orientation and enrollment days starting this week.
In addition to schedule changes and registration, back to school fairs, sports physicals and other last-minute enrollment for extracurricular activities will take place.
On Aug. 18, Macks Creek School District will be the first to begin this fall. Camdenton and Versailles will start a few days later.

Registration dates

Camdenton
Registration will be held on Thursday and Friday at all elementary schools (Dogwood K-2/ Hawthorn 3-4/ Hurricane Deck K-4/ Oak Ridge Intermediate 5-6). Schools will enroll from 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Middle school: Aug. 6 and 7 at 1:30 p.m. and Aug. 7 from 6:30 p.m.
High school: Aug. 4 seniors from 3-5 p.m. and juniors 5-7 p.m., Aug. 5 juniors 3-4 p.m. and sophomores 4-7 p.m., Aug. 7 freshmen and sophomores from 3-7 p.m. and 6 p.m. freshmen parent meeting.

Climax Springs
Registration begins anytime after Monday, Aug. 4.

Eldon
South Elementary: Aug. 11 and 12 from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (new students only)
Upper Elementary: fourth grade Aug. 12, fifth grade Aug. 13, sixth grade Aug. 14 from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. New students can attend any of the days.
Middle School: Aug. 6,7,8 from 8-2:30 p.m. for all students.
High School: New students Aug. 11, Seniors Aug. 5, Juniors Aug. 6, Sophomores, Aug. 7; and freshmen Aug. 8.

Macks Creek
Any student can make schedule changes Aug. 4-8 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

School of the Osage
High School: seniors Aug. 5, juniors Aug. 6, sophomores Aug. 7, freshmen Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Aug. 11-14 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. all other buildings.

Versailles
High School: seniors Aug. 5, Juniors Aug. 6, Freshmen Aug. 7 and new students Aug. 11 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
